Videos

Video is an excellent medium for your content marketing efforts. Not only does it put a human face and voice behind your company, but it also provides incredible search engine results. A Forrester Research study found that videos are 50 times more likely to appear on the first page of search engine results than any given text page. Pretty compelling.

Plus, given the growth of social media, the demand for video is growing. In 2009, video viewing on social networking sites was up 98% (Nielsen, November 2009). As Internet bandwidth and computer processing speeds increase, video will get even more attention.

As with all of your content marketing initiatives, your videos must be compelling and address your viewers’ needs and challenges. Your videos can feature:

  • Product reviews (related to your industry or product)
  • Video case studies with customers and background footage (b-roll)
  • Interviews of an industry powerhouse
  • Casual conversations with your employees
  • Interviews of top executives to support a product launch
  • Tutorials or screencasts of your product (Just make sure it’s helpful and not promotional.)
  • “Walking” discussions so viewers get to see your offices in the background
